Meet Kristi Reeves

My story

I've been a therapist for over a decade, and I have loved my work. It's not just been a career, but a true calling. I've found being a therapist deeply fulfilling and engaging. My understanding of the human experience has grown through personal exploration, formal education, and most of all, from the incredible people I've had the privilege to work with. But amidst all the learning and growth, I recognized there is a gap, a place where people fall through the cracks. I knew I had to do something about it.

That's why I created Concentric Coaching... to bridge that gap.... to offer support where it's most needed.

Let me share a little of how this realization came to be, and how I saw the need for a new approach.

I took the long road

Early in my life, I often felt adrift. I knew I had potential and the drive to learn, but there were significant barriers to higher education and training for me. So I moved rather like a pinball, bumping into walls, accepting whatever job or situation came my way, and if there wasn't one that suited me, I created my own. I started several businesses, not so much as an "entrepreneur," but as someone determined to carve out a place in the world.  I was just taking stabs and hitting something occasionally, but learning from every attempt.

I called this "life living me," rather than me living my life. I was reacting, not deciding.

How I used my missteps

What I learned from these experiences was that no journey is ever pointless. My work spanned retail, manual labor, hospitality, clerical roles, the arts, education, and data-driven fields. Each role showed me that all walks of life can be meaningful and even enjoyable. But they were not "me," on-target.

A challenging life transition became a turning point, an opportunity. I stepped away from work for three years to care for an aging relative. During that time, I was able to go to college, a gift disguised as a setback. Not having a "job" turned out to be just what I needed!  It was there that I discovered my calling in social work and realized I could also channel my passion for helping others as a therapist. This revelation launched me into a Master's program, plus a 33-hour post-graduate certificate in art therapy, years of hands-on clinical work, and ultimately, my own private practice.

A new course correction

As much as I love my work as a therapist, the traditional medical model comes with limitations. Many people rely on insurance for therapy, which is understandable, but this system has its problems.

The medical model focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health disorders, often relying on medication and labels that are not always necessary for someone to receive the support they truly need. In addition, there are highly effective approaches that insurance doesn't cover simply because they fall outside the standard paradigm. This left me with a dilemma: How could I help more people, especially those who don't fit neatly within a diagnosis, without turning away some who could truly benefit from what I have to offer?

Welcome to Concentric Coaching, LLC!

I am thrilled to now offer my services that can help others to overcome some of the obstacles I once faced. Those very detours shaped the foundation for Concentric Coaching and inspired the programs I've designed.

Leveling Up

Concentric Coaching is structured around purposeful levels, each one forming a circle that moves you closer to your center. As you progress, the work deepens and intensifies, always guiding you closer to your target. I've lived each level, and continue to do so every day.

If this story resonates with you, I invite you to read on!

The following section provides more detail about each level and what it contains. Each level builds on the other and is included as a stepping stone as you move deeper.

Set off on your journey - Transform Your Life Today

Level 1: Assessment

Level 1: Assessment

Level 1: Assessment

At the start of a journey, you recognize pivotal moments in your life - moments where decisions are crucial. Through personalized coaching, you will gain clarity on your true desires and the next steps to align your actions with your core values. A targeted approach can facilitate a deeper understanding of your personal journey and help you take aim in a direction that is mindfully chosen.

Level 2: values

Level 1: Assessment

Level 1: Assessment

Life is meant to be lived in communion with others, but both joys and struggles come with connection. In relationships, we wear many faces: parent, child, sibling, spouse, employee, partner, friend. We are a multiplicity, but this requires a strong ego when there is conflict and boundaries become opaque. Learn how to make lasting changes in how you communicate, manage change, make decisions, and move in your relationships. Concentric Coaching LLC is there to help you align your priorities and passions with the many roles you play.

Level 3: dream work

Level 4: Individuation

Level 4: Individuation

"The dream is a little hidden door in the innermost and most secret recesses of the soul…” - C.G. Jung.

Psychiatrist Carl Jung believed dreams to be natural, spontaneous messages from the unconscious mind. Rather than viewing them as disguises for repressed wishes, as Freud did, he described dreams as a window into the psyche. They act as a map, offering vital guidance and pointing the way toward psychological wholeness, a process called individuation.

Level Three coaching is meant for vivid dreamers, where you can begin your most fascinating journey - into the world of dreams.

Level 4: Individuation

Level 4: Individuation

Level 4: Individuation

Individuation is a journey to the deepest center. It is the lifelong process of becoming your true Self, not the persona you have crafted and present to the world. In Level Four, I embrace a Jungian approach to coaching, which aims to help you gain a deeper understanding of your Self through dreams, shadow work, and understanding the concepts of persona, complexes, the Ego, and the Self. Additionally, I incorporate principles from art therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help you become aware of the parts of yourself that have been driving your decisions and behaviors.

Please note: Coaching is not therapy or Jungian Analysis. Our first conversation will help you know if coaching is what is right for you.
